What is Rotary?

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 30,000 Rotary clubs.

The Rotary district 9520 covers the southern and eastern suburbs of Adelaide, the Fleurieu Peninsula and lower Murray, the Riverland of South Australia, Sunraysia (Victoria) and Broken Hill (NSW).

Rotary provides an enormous network of support to their students - there is always someone close who can help.

Exchange students are allocated a counsellor within both their host and sponsor Rotary clubs. These counsellors are the people the student can turn to with any problem large or small.

Travel

Host Rotary districts organize group tours for all exchange students within their region. Although these tours are a great opportunity to truly explore and experience other countries and regions within the exchange and are also a great opportunity to meet other exchange students from all over the world, they are NOT compulsory and are at additional expense to the natural parents.

Insurance

Rotary provides travel insurance and unlimited medical insurance for the student whilst overseas.
